The scope of practice working group met in Paris on 8th March. This working group under the Chairmanship of Ton Kouwenberg
from the Netherlands considered the detailed proposals so far developed and agreed the main body of the discussion document. Chairman Ton is now putting the final touches to the document and will prepare a summary of findings as well detailing the aims and purpose of the document. This will then be considered by the EFO board, its members and the members of FORE. The publication of the discussion document is only a first stage but it provides a basis for a detailed consultation across Europe. Commenting on the forthcoming document President Armand Gersanois said ‘the EFO welcomes this discussion document. It is the first project to come from the co-operation between the EFO and FORE and it will allow the whole profession a basis for further discussion on scope of practice. We hope every national association will consider the findings and that every osteopath will read and consider the discussion document and its implications over the coming months’.
