EFO – SOPE Steering group consider feedback on scope of practice document

E-mail Print PDF

Dear Members, dear Osteopaths
The steering group of EFO and FORE members met in Amsterdam to consider the consultation feedback received for the European scope of practice document. We have received considerable feedback r any sources and we would like to thank everyone who took part.

The steering group considered all feedback received and are in the process of making the changes from the comments received. The final document is expected to be ready by the end of December and will be presented to EFO members at the General assembly in February. FORE members will receive the document at their next meeting in Antwerp in January.

The steering group will also prepare two letters for member information. One will outline the process they have gone through to consider the feedback received and outline why certain changes have been adopted and why others have not been. The main reason for non inclusion is a consideration by the committee that the points made were already covered elsewhere in the document or where an alternative statement was not presented for consideration.

The second letter will detail why the suggestions section has been removed and will outline recommended next steps for the EFO and FORE to consider. It was felt that suggestions concerning next steps should be dealt with outside the scope document.

The two letters and the edited scope document will be published on the EFO website and will be forwarded to FORE for them to decide on the most appropriate format for publication for their members.
